The next meeting of the St Austell and Mevagissey Community Network Panel has a wide-ranging agenda, including an update on the new bus contract and services from representatives of Cornwall Council’s Passenger Transport Unit.Communities Link Officer Helen Nicholson will also talk about the ‘Austell Project’, an investment in public art and landscaping in the St Austell area which is funded by the Coastal Communities Fund.A representative of Devon and Cornwall Police will give an update on local community safety issues, and the Panel’s adopted project of Climate Change will be discussed by parish and town council working groups.The Panel is chaired by Cornwall Councillor Sandra Heyward, who says: “If you haven’t been to one of our meetings before I urge you to give it a try. Whether you are interested in local issues and services, have a view on a particular subject, or simply want to put faces to the names of those who make decisions for the St Austell and Mevagissey area, you are most welcome.”“The meetings are informal and informative, and above all, friendly. So do come along either just to listen, or to join the conversation.”The meeting is held from 6.00 to 8.00 pm on Thursday 12 March 2020 in the Council Chamber, St Austell Information Service,Penwinnick Road, St Austell, PL25 5DR. Car parking is available. Membership of the Panel includes Cornwall Councillors for St Austell and Mevagissey Community Network Area, and representatives of Town and Parish Councils at Carlyon, Mevagissey, Pentewan Valley, St Austell, St Austell Bay, St Ewe, St Goran and St Mewan.
